23 years old producer & Dj, Maxime felt into electronic musics during his sound engineer studies,He quickly discovers baile funk, through Dj Orgasmic‘s mixtapes and Daniel Haaksman‘s (Man Recordings label manager, wich is celebratin its 5 years) “Favela Booty Beats” compilations and get addicted to ghetto musics from all over the world.

Collecting residencies in Brussels (Brussels 4 Party, Fight Klub…), and gigs in Belgium and abroad, he has already played with e.a Douster, Sany Pitbull, El Hijo de la Cumbia, The Heatwave, Noob, Djedjotronic, Lee Mortimer, French Fries, Lazy Flow, Sam Tiba, Myd, BeatAuCue, HighBloo, Meneo,Les Petits Pilous, Steve Aoki, Noisia…

6AM :  Hello ! How are you ?

6AM : So tell us what’s going on for you at the moment…

Max Le Daron: For the releases, my Hat+Hoodie remix has been released for free last monday on DBTY. My Onyenze – SD5 remix is about to be released on a compilation for Akwaaba records for fall-october if everything’s ok, “El Caramillo Diabolico” on “What’s Real” compilation from B.YRSLF div. & Still Muzik, i m working on a EP including remixes of a brasilian lesbian girls band named SapaBonde alongside Ophex, Leo Justi, Diamond Bass, Hat+Hoodie, Munchi… should be released for free on Bandcamp around october.

For the gigs, i played in Netherlands twice this month, in Amsterdam with Sonido Martines & Cumbia Cosmonauts and in Tilburg for the Incubate Festival on Generation Bass stage, was really huge. Don’t forget that i’ll be on Paris this saturday 25th of september alongside Asura and the Knight Cats at 1979 (facebook event).

6AM :  How did you end up producing and mixing?

Max Le Daron: I was producin for at least 8 years, small crappy stuff as training on different softwares, that became more serious during my sound engineer studies, where i acquired the basics that allows me to work properly, can call my work productions (in a serious way) since three years now.

I came to mix naturally, being in a rock band and listenin more and more electro, i started deejayin as a necessity to express my environment, as i produced more “bailable” musics.

Max Le Daron: The Tarsier

6AM : What means MDD for you ?

Max Le Daron: This is where all started, only on thing to say: R.I.P. MDD

6AM : How do you see the belgian electro scene?

Max Le Daron: It’s hot,there’s of course Highbloo and his buddy Vhyce gainin exposure each day on the scene, there’s a new label Lowup peeps and i are settin up too…and so many kids starting to sound really good, like Factor J, Brussels based youth who’ll make his name for sure.

6AM : What are the emerging artists that you recommend to our readers ?

Max Le Daron: Heartbreak, Hat+Hoodie, Ophex, Erick Rincon

6AM : What do you do in general at 6inthemorning ?

Max Le Daron: Sleepin’ during the week, outside on weekends.

6AM :  How do you see the next months ?

Max Le Daron: Personally, i want to work on my forthcoming EPs, collabs with MCs and musicians, a tour in Mexico is about to set up too…

Musically,i don’t get this comeback to techno, a musical genre that doesn’t evolve for ten years, to me. It’s probably due to MDMA’s comeback in clubs, and maybe all these “tropical house” house bitches who produces empty and soul-less tracks,bored the audience way too fast.
