Twist ItMax Le Daron,Dj Naif et Raph, with less than a century by them 4, have that freshness and that energy that we would appreciate to find in many artists.

This week, Mathieu, Twist It“>Twist it! is on the grill…

Originally drummer, the young belgian DJ/producer is opened to many electronic music styles, and it’s with brio that he knows how to not be compartmentalized in a particular genre, which allows him to play in many kind of clubs.

Twist It was focused on Tropical Bass for a long time and keep the percussions as a major influence in his music.

After hanging out in Techno parties with his colleague Raph, he starts to play music with more cold tones.

Depending on the place, Twist It Can play Midget House, Tech-House, Techno or Tropical bass.

His productions and remixes allows him to prove his electism, as this mix he made for us will show you :

INTERVIEW :

6AM :  Hello ! How are you ?

Twist It!: In the middle of a house moving but otherwise everything is good

6AM : So tell us what’s going on for you at the moment…

Twist It!: I finished a gabber remix of Pope Of Dope since a month, which need mastering, and will be available very quickly. I’m currently working on a vocal mix of “Jungle Helicopter” which will be out on a compilation soon. Once I’ve moved in my new house, i’m gonna start one or two remixes before starting producing again when I’ll be sure of what I wanna do. For my parisian people, I’m mixing on 11th September at Belushi’s at a Tropical Bass party.

6AM :  How did you end up producing and mixing?

Twist It!: I was a drummer back in the days. After playing in a rock band for a while, i was kind of sick of this environment. Everybody’s pulling dirty tricks at each other, and dreaming of breaking through. I wanted something simpler. So I started mixing with my partners from the MDD, I found directly what I was looking for before. For the production it was the obvious next step of djing. Today it became essential.

6AM : What animal represents you the most?

Twist It!: With the track Funky Monkey, i’ve to answer monkey.

6AM : What means MDD for you ?

Twist It!: MDD for me, it’s the 2 years that just passed. It was a house, which we left now, but the crew is still here and that’s what matters. It’s guys, Raph, max le Daron and DJ Naif, with whom i evolved and learned the production and DJing as a musician but also as a person.

6AM : How do you see the belgian electro scene?

Twist It!: There is a few producers and DJs particularly good that appeared those last few years. At the production level, it’s still a lil bit poor, concerning the DJing, we notice that those that are here for a few time now keep the stranglehold on our country. I think we still have to wait so that our country will be well thought of in the electronic music scene. And that will come by the producers and their performances as DJs whereas we’re more known for our good public, our festivals, Fuse, I Love Techno, etc

6AM : What are the emerging artists that you recommend to our readers ?

Twist It!: First the Night Slugs/Rinse FM crew who are kicking asses a lot lately. Then the Club Cheval and particularly Canblaster who is very good on production. For Belgium you need to check on the guys from Ultravid who will hit hard very soon in my opinion.

6AM : Your mix is very different from your previous ones, why this change ?

Twist It!: This year, i hanged out a lot at the Fuse and parties where they play Techno, Tech-House and even Minimal. Raph and Naif also influenced me a lot towards this kind of music. I very like those styles that i thought was too cold at first therefore it’s naturat that i’m starting to mix them. Moreover i noticed that Techno and Tech-House are a lot more accepted right now by the public and very efficient at parties.

Particularly in belgium where the UK Funky and the Tropical bass never met the same explosion as we could see it elsewhere. I still play Funky, Tropical bass or B-More but it depends on the parties, the places, the public, etc. At the end, the fact that i’m playing all those different genres of music allows me to be efficient at more clubs and parties. Doing this mix was a way to acknowledge that : Hey twist It ! is also that!

6AM : What do you do in general at 6inthemorning ?

Twist It!: I’m pretty quiet during the week. I’ve a good rythm of life, i focus mainly on my studies and music so at 6, i’m in bed. However, on the weekend, i’m generally still up (often doing the closing at the Fuse).

6AM :  How do you see the next months ?

Twist It!: I hope to reboost myself at a production and remixes level. In particular make people forget a lil bit about « Funky Monkey ». Everybody knows me for this track and i want that to change. I also hope for more and more bookings !
